Clue – A New Comedy at CIBC Theatre

This is an attempt to promote a production without throwing in too much information that turns into spoilers! Here goes nothing. One of the key ideas of the board game, which is where most members of the audience know the name from, has to do with the different things that could've all happened, and led to the demise of one of the characters. The way that these multiple stories are woven into the playscript is super fun all the way through. It helps generate the tone for the entire show. That's a hard thing to do with Clue because, at the end of the day, it's a play about a murder scene, but the premise is that it's a comedy. Apologies about that "spoiler," but then again, if you didn't know this, then maybe you are going to experience a few more surprises on Tuesday 18th February 2025 in Chicago. The new comedy show, Clue is a family-friendly experience. The premise of this updated version of an all-time classic story makes it interesting, even for the younger members of the family. Since the story reboots itself again and again, imagining different scenarios, you don't necessarily lose sense of what's happening on stage, even if your attention goes elsewhere at some point. It's also a play not a musical, so don't expect any of the characters to randomly burst into song. However, they may or may not do so just to spoof the traditional musical format. It's a funny all-around show that may leave you scratching your head at the end of the night. Was the story that you would've picked the one that actually took place? Finding a good seat within CIBC Theatre is key to enjoying the show. Try to look for a seat in the middle of the theater and a few rows back.
