The American Financial Collapse is still raging in the winter of 1934. In Duluth, Minnesota, at a run-down board-house, the implications are most noticeable. While his wife Elizabeth continues to battle with dementia and occasionally displays some signs of mental alertness, the property's owner Nick Laine tussles to prevent the bank from seizing the building.
